The Old Post Bungalow

Welcome to The Old Post Bungalow, a three-bedroom riverfront bungalow on Heckscher Drive in Jacksonville — the stretch of the St. Johns locals call the Key West of North Florida. It sleeps eight, with the river at the bottom of the garden.

The river is the show here. Spend your mornings watching dolphins swim by, cruise ships making their way to and from port, and enormous cargo ships passing right before your eyes. Fish straight from the dock, cool off in the pool, or bring your own boat and launch at a nearby ramp. A boat slip is available for an additional fee, subject to availability, and must be arranged before your stay.

Inside, the bungalow is light and easy: warm oak floors, a white kitchen with a gas range and granite counters, a living room for the whole group, and upstairs bedrooms under the eaves — one with a stained-glass window of nautilus shells.

Please note: the bungalow is one of two homes on this property. Each has its own private interior, separate entrance and dedicated driveway, but the backyard, the pool and the dock are shared with guests staying in the neighbouring cottage, The Postcard Cottage. Guests have the entire three-bedroom bungalow to themselves — every indoor living space, bedroom, bathroom and the kitchen — with its own separate entrance and dedicated driveway. The backyard, the pool and the dock are shared with guests staying in the neighbouring cottage. The bungalow has two floors, with stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Pets are allowed. This is a non-smoking home. Full arrival instructions are sent ahead of your stay.
