Casa Solara

Welcome to Casa Solara, a bright, wide-open home about a mile from downtown St. Augustine, set back on a fenced lot under old live oaks. The back yard is why people book it: a free-form pool with a wide paver deck, a stone fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs, and a long timber pergola sheltering a hammock, a lounge and a dining table. When the sun drops, string lights come on over the water and the yard turns into the best room in the house.

Inside, the garage has been converted into a proper game room — arcade cabinets, a shuffleboard table, an arcade basketball hoop and a projector — so there is somewhere for everyone to go on a rainy afternoon. The house sleeps eight, and the whole place is set up for a family or two travelling together who want the Ancient City on the doorstep and a pool to come home to.

The main living space runs the width of the house: a white quartz island with counter seating opens onto the dining table and the family room, with sliding doors to the pool deck at one end. Wall ovens, a full-size fridge and a stocked coffee bar mean you can genuinely cook here rather than eat out every night.
